How do I calculate a percentage of a number?
Divide the percentage by 100 and multiply by the number. For example, 20% of 80 is (20 ÷ 100) × 80 = 16. The calculator above does this automatically.
How is percentage change calculated?
Percentage change is the difference between the new and old value divided by the absolute old value, multiplied by 100. Going from 80 to 96 is a +20% change.
